Back Down to Earth: Angus Speaks

13 Nov

Hello to whomever may be following this blog.
1. As you may have noticed, I will be making an effort to post more frequently.
2. I am having a great time at school, and taking great joy in simply learning, however here is a great quotation with regard to our education system and challenging the norm.
“We spend the first years of a child’s life teaching it to walk and talk, and from then on we teach it to sit down and shut up. There is something wrong with that…”
All for now folks! Also points for whoever can guess who said it, because I forget already.

I came up with Neil deGrasse Tyson

Neil deGrasse Tyson (play /ˈniːəl dəˈɡræs ˈtaɪsən/ born October 5, 1958) is an American astrophysicist and science communicator. He is currently the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space and a research associate in the department of astrophysics at the American Museum of Natural History. From 2006 to 2011 he hosted the educational science television show NOVA scienceNOW on PBS and has been a frequent guest on The Daily Show, The Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher, and Jeopardy!. It was announced on August 5, 2011, that Tyson will be hosting a new sequel to Carl Sagan’s Cosmos: A Personal Voyage television series.

Hi Angus, your quote goes hand in hand with the old saying from the 40’s, 50’s era. “children should be seen and not heard”. Though sometimes I believe in that one (haha) Glad u r enjoying school. Hear u met up with your Dad one day. That must have been a nice surprise. Miss you Angus, see you before we know it. Love G&G.

I appreciate your efforts to post more frequently, keep it up.

Tonight for supper I made fresh Thai rolls with peanut dipping sauce to go with the Green Thai chicken curry.

I also found a really promising looking recipe on-line for coconut shrimp. Maybe we can try to make them at Christmas.

I am still having a hard time adjusting to our much lower food demands. Yesterday I had to throw out (gasp) a healthy few servings worth of…..Bibimbap!!! I know, it was sacrilege…but what could I do??? After 3 meals worth (one which we shared with G&G) no one wanted to see it again. I sighed as I thought how that NEVER would have happened with you around! I am learning to freeze sooner when the food is fresh.

    Miss you, love Mom
